Well today was our second doctor's visit, and thankfully Matt got to come along this time. He got a chance to meet Nurse Alicia and Dr. Piquard. This visit was short and to the point: weight, blood pressure, pee in a cup, quick chat with doc, and then.... Baby Nunnally's heartbeat! Take a listen :)
A good heart rate of about 160 beats per minute. His/her little heart is sure workin' it out! We have our first trimester screen scheduled for Monday with Dr. Bennet at Children's Mercy. It's some more blood work and an ultrasound. It helps to look for genetic disorders (such as Down's syndrome or Trisomy 18) so we would be more prepared for a special needs baby. Hopefully all goes well. Our next doctor's visit will be routine, and then March is the big reveal. Pretty excited about that, and of course we're trying to guess what we're having. Over Christmas with so many people saying "he" I thought that maybe it was a boy, but now I'm feeling maybe it's a girl? We really don't care either way, just as long as he/she is healthy :)
